How does the background remover work?
The tool uses colour-similarity detection. It samples the background colour (starting from corners), then removes all pixels within a tolerance range, producing a transparent PNG.
What types of backgrounds does it work best on?

What format is the output?
Always PNG, because PNG supports transparency (alpha channel). JPG and WebP do not support full transparency.
